I learned the hard way... but FlikBall lives on

Last week, I sent an email announcing my new project, FlikBall.

Unfortunately, about 50% of my subscribers never got the email :(

If you have an email list, you may want to know this...

  1. Whether your emails reach their destination really depends on your domain's reputation.
  2. If you haven't sent an email to your list in several months, your domain's reputation can be lost.
  3. If you lose your domain's reputation, a lot of your emails will be rejected or sent to spam.

I'm using Kit.com (formerly Convertkit) to manage my email list.

They've been very helpful at explaining how to regain my domain's reputation

Long story short, it may take months!

The trick is to only email your most engaged subscribers (if you got this email, you are probably one of them... thank you!)

Keep sending emails regularly and encourage people to reply to your emails.

Over time, your domain's reputation may improve.

Once your domain's reputation improves, you can slowly start emailing the not-so-engaged subscribers.

I made this mistake so you don't have to!

You're welcome :)

Ok, so back to FlikBall... ⚽️🔥

Do you like LEGO?

Do you like soccer?

Do you like flicking... yes, like randomly flicking things?

If you answered yes to the 3 questions, you are...

...a weirdo.. like me hahaha

and weirdos are allowed to have fun too, right?

Ok, FlikBall is a tabletop soccer toy I came up with recently.

You don't have to be a weirdo to find it strangely addicting (just a bit maybe.)

I've been having a blast playing it with my nieces, by myself, and dealing with suppliers in China to get 300 sets done.

Today, I received the first sample box... and it looks good!

I also launched the website where you can join the waiting list for when I launch it.

The website is → www.flikball.com

What do you think of the website?

What do you think of the idea itself?

What do you think about the Universe in general...?

Hit reply and let me know what you think.

More stories about FlikBall and learning lessons to come...

Miguel @Grumo.com

P.S. Please also let me know if you found this email on your spam folder. Thx

P.2. Your replies help. You can even reply with a single letter like "a" or "u" or word like "chorizo". I don't think the algorithm cares about the content of your reply.

P.3. Thank you. Peace. Love. Cookies!

About to flick a Flik Ball

Hola Reader It's been a while! I've been busy working on multiple Glide projects. However, this time, I'm writing for another reason... I want to share a new project that I've been working on over the last couple of months, and I hope some of you find it fun and interesting. You may not know this about me, but I've been an avid LEGO builder and soccer fan for as long as I can remember. So what I've come up with was bound to happen sooner or later... I've created something that combines the...

Scanning +$1 Million in tickets with No-Code | Project Showcase

Reader! This is a quick email to showcase my latest project with Glide. (Glide is a platform to build custom software without coding) The client sells thousands of tickets of major holidays in the US and needed to replace their existing ticket scanning tool with a custom solution. They found me via my YouTube channel and hired me to build their solution using Glide. In just two weeks, I was able to create a fully featured ticket scanning solution to their exact specifications. They did an...

Reader! There are two ways to get started building apps with Glide. Way 1: Start from scratch. Way 2: Don't start from scratch. Typically, Way 2 is the best option as it can save considerable development time. But, how do you get started with Way 2? Step 1: Create a Glide account for free → HERE Step 2: Choose a template that matches the type of app you want to build. Glide offers hundreds of free and paid templates on their template store. However, in my experience, many of those templates...
